It’s been a number of years since I’ve even looked at my site. When I started working on this site I thought it would be a source for learning how to make use of the command line. Wow, how things have changed over the last few years. From politics to AI and so much more, the IT industry is really being turned on its head and it looks like this is only the start of it.
So, I’ve dusted Digital Combine off and plan on turning into a kind of tech playground. Over the last couple of years I’ve discovered NextCloud and Gitea setting up our own servers for Digital Combine. It’s very refreshing moving everything off the tech giant systems. Some actual online privacy! And the Fediverse with Mastodon and the ActivityPub protocols is what I thought the Internet would be like back in the 90’s. Thirty years later it finally arrived. So, with these new toys I do plan to go through a lot of person projects I’ve tinkered with over the years and publish them here a see what comes of it.
At the moment the Gitea server setting are on the restrictive side and could make contributing to projects hard. As I get more familiar with the server I do hope to relax this. I just want to limit the abuse that may come to something manageable. Ya know, it’s the Internet 😛
In the meantime, there’s going to be a lot of clean up and changes and I look forward to what might come of this.
